I asked all 10 participants the below questions.

 

Goal: Learn about people’s motivations to order in

  • Tell me about the last time you used a food delivery product. Describe those steps.

  • Why did you opt to order-in in the first place?

Goal: Learn about habits regarding food delivery vs dining out

  • How often do you use food delivery versus dining out?

  • What makes you decide to dine out?

Goal: Evaluate consumer perception of current user flow/business model

  • Let’s say you’re using an app to book a reservation. What are your thoughts on calling the restaurant through the app to make a reservation? (The product owners were exploring a revenue stream via a pay per call/tap to site model that I wasn’t too sure about)

  • What if calling the restaurant or being driven to their site were your two options to book? How valuable would that experience be for you?

Goal: Learn about users’ process integrating restaurants with friends

  • When you’re out dining with other people, how large is your party typically?

  • What are some of your go-to cuisines when eating with a larger party?

Goal: Learn more about consumer attitudes towards Covid-19 dining

  • You said in your screener survey you’re less likely to dine out during Covid 19. What are some safety measures restaurants can take that would make you more at ease and dine out more? 

  • It’s getting colder as the end of the year approaches. How likely are you to eat indoors?
